Victoria Atkinson partnered with Sydney Theatre Company to create Shimmering stage sparkling winter playhouse. The seven dazzling chiffon banners flow from the heritage beams of STC’s walkway entry at their iconic home on The Wharf.
Victoria's design was inspired by the brilliant location, energy and performances of Sydney Theatre Company and was generously supported by Anita Belgiorno-Nettis AM.
“My artwork is a shimmering stage with flashing lights and stars sparkling in the sky. I remember it from my visit, and I remember it from my dream: an archway with clouds and rainbows inside and a boombox. It gave me energy. It made me feel happy” - Victoria Atkinson
Accompanying the banners is a unique installation of artwork by Victoria at the entry of the Theatre Bar at the End of the Wharf. Victoria’s exhibition runs alongside the production of Cost of Living by Martyna Majok until 18 August.
