For the Enlighten festival in Canberra, Meagan Pelham partnered with the Museum of Australian Democracy (MoAD) to create an art installation designed to reignite your relationship with democracy.
"Sit down, hold hands, drink wine, fall in love and wear your flirty flirty fancy party pants!"
Meagan invited visitors to take a seat at her Valentine's Day-inspired dinner setting, complete with gorgeous crystalware, custom tablecloth and chairs, and romantic sculptural works, all designed to foster an energy of champagne bubbles, romantic flutters and giggling chatter.
To honour her commitment to love and democracy, Meagan also created a pop song-inspired election campaign video in collaboration with guest artist Sally Coleman. Meagan's key election promises? To help voters find true love. 'Vote for me!' she sings like a mantra, advocating for democratic love, romance and people with disability.
The playful installation was part of A Date with Democracy at MoAD, activating Old Parliament House for Enlighten. The installation ran from the 28th of February until the 10th of March.
