"The blue-ringed octopus is a tiny, shy creature that lives in the deep, dark corners of ocean rock pools. They are extremely venomous, less than one milligram of their poison is deadly to a human. I think they are very beautiful, with pale yellow skin and electric blue rings.
Ordinarily hidden from view and unable to be touched by humans, I wanted to bring the cephalopod to life at large-scale so that their beauty can be seen and appreciated. The work was made using found materials and the low-fi technique of papier-mache.
Through this work, I hope to inspire people to care for our environment so that the unique creatures that live in our oceans survive long into the future."
