SAD, MAD, THINKING birthday - Celebrating Studio A’s Diamond Decade

Taking cues from Studio A artist Thom Roberts’ playful reversals of language, SAD, MAD, THINKING birthday expands the idea of celebration beyond “happy”, capturing the full, vibrant spectrum of Studio A’s ten-year journey in this retrospective exhibition.

Featuring iconic Archibald Prize portraits by the studio’s finalists, alongside work that inspired major public artworks and standout pieces from across the studio’s artists, the exhibition reflects the breadth and impact of Studio A’s practice.

The presentation culminates in a sumptuous dining room installation, inviting audiences to experience the rich sensuality of Studio A’s collaborative work with leading artists and designers, including Mud Australia, Canberra Glassworks, Alémais, Erth and Armadillo.

Audiences are invited to celebrate this milestone at The Garden Gallery with Studio A through an immersive exhibition that shares creativity in a way only Studio A can.
