Enlighten – A Date with Democracy

For the Enlighten Festival in Canberra, MoAD is asking visitors to reflect on their relationship with democracy.

How is your relationship with democracy? Whether it's a rewarding romance or a complicated affair, you're invited on a 'date' with democracy.

Studio A's Meagan Pelham has reflected on her experience of democracy and created an artwork that welcomes visitors to sit down amongst sparkles, chink a glass and ruminate over a compelling video clip - to ultimately, Vote for Meagan. Vote for Love. Flirty Kiss...mwah!.

Meagan's installation is part of a line up of events bringing Enlighten to Old Parliament House. Hit the dancefloor in King's Hall, belt out your favourite love songs and break-up ballads at karaoke, make friendship bracelets, enjoy a drink at the Members' Bar.

A Date with Democracy runs, Friday 28 February, Saturday 1 March, Friday 7 March, Saturday 8 March, 7pm-10:30pm. You can also see Meagan's artwork outside of these times during the museum's standard hours, until March 10.
