Guy Fredericks' Bleeding Hearts and Morning Glory comes to life at Lismore Regional Gallery!

This immersive exhibition, originally developed for Manly Art Gallery & Museum in 2024, was created in collaboration with artist and researcher Dr Chloe Watfern to document and celebrate the careful environmental labour of Bushlink, an organisation of neurodivergent eco-warriors committed to re-vitalising and caring for nature.
See the exhibition's titular plants reimagined by Guy in drawings, paintings, and intricately interwoven glass pieces created in collaboration with Canberra Glassworks. Strands of Morning Glory weed - pulled and wound over tree branches to dry as part of Bushlink’s regeneration work - became “lassos” that inspired Fredericks’ creative journey.
“I hope this exhibition gets more and different people involved in discussions about climate change and widens awareness. I really admire the work that the Bushlink team is doing, creating more habitat for native plants and animals. In my exhibition, I want to honour the important work Bushlink does in bush regeneration.” - Guy Fredericks
