Archibald Prize 2026 tour: Shepparton

The Archibald Prize 2026 tour kicks off in Shepparton, Victoria!

Judged by the trustees of the Art Gallery of NSW, the Archibald Prize is awarded to the best portrait painting. Since 1921, the prize has reflected the spirit of the time, capturing famous faces, local heroes, and incredible stories from some of Australia's most talented artists.

After its smashing success at the Art Gallery of NSW, the 2026 Archibald Prize is on to the first leg of its annual tour, giving people the chance to see Australia's most prolific portraiture prize in a gallery near them.

The touring exhibition is also a great opportunity for any of our regional friends to see portraits by Studio A artists Thom Roberts, Daniel Kim and Meagan Pelham.
