For the first time in its 100-year history, the Archibald Prize is touring to the Northern Territory!
As part of its regional tour, the 2024 Archibald Prize is now showing at the Araluen Arts Centre in Mparntwe/Alice Springs, bringing the Archies to Central Australia and making art more accessible to regional audiences.
The Archibald Prize for portrait painting is Australia’s most celebrated and democratic – sometimes controversial – art award. Open to any artist living in Australia or New Zealand, since 1921 it has reflected the unique experiences of the people who live in this region, highlighting figures from all walks of life.
This is your chance to see the incredible works of the 2024 Archibald Prize, including works from Studio A's Emily Crockford, Thom Roberts, Meagan Pelham and Daniel Kim.
